Summary
This is how you make impact as a Category Buyer Components
As a Category Buyer Components you are responsible for the relationships with the suppliers within your category, primarily within the NEXT Operating Company and in alignment with the corporate category sourcing strategy.
You source, evaluate and engage with the suppliers for goods and services, based on business needs, aimed at exploiting efficiencies in production, realizing business objectives and minimizing cost of ownership. You set clear objectives to continuously improve QLTCS-performance. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to achieve our goals, ranging from initial selection and purchase at phase-in or projects to re-assessment of the existing portfolio.
Your daily responsibilities include
- Source new suppliers in agreement with the category strategy: negotiate and maintain new and existing contracts with suppliers;
- Analyze, define and implement methods to continuously improve on quality, logistical performance, technical capabilities, total cost and sustainability (QLTC) and perform and follow-up regular business review meetings;
- Manage and own the relationship with the suppliers to secure supply and ensure they function as integral part of our supply chain;
- Accountable for setting and reviewing purchasing parameters;
- Represent the sourcing team in multidisciplinary project teams;
- Functional leadership and guidance of the operational buyer(s) within the category.

This is what you bring to the team
In this job you will play an important role in in strengthening our supply chain. To do so, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor working and thinking level, preferably you hold a relevant degree in procurement (e.g. NEVI);
- Minimum three till five years of proven relevant experience in procurement
- Good at building relations and strong communication and negotiation skills;
- Strong process understanding of the supply chain, ideally in electronics manufacturing and assembly
- Ability to turn vision and ambition in clear and concise results;
- Excellent level of verbal and written communicative skills in English. Dutch is desirable.
