This is how you make an impact as a Data Engineer

In this role, you will design, develop, and operate cloud‑based data pipelines and the enterprise Master Data Repository (MDR) within the Azure ecosystem, enabling high‑quality data flows and data‑driven decision making across the business.

As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for building and maintaining end‑to‑end data solutions that support analytics, operational processes, and system integrations. You translate business and integration requirements into robust data architectures and scalable engineering solutions.

You work closely with Data Architects, Integration Specialists, Data Stewards, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, consistency, performance, and security across the enterprise. You are part of the BI team, report to the BI Team Lead, and are based in Son.

 

Your work directly contributes to:

·       Reliable system‑to‑system integrations (ERP, PLM, MES)

·       A trusted enterprise Master Data Repository

·       Improved data availability and performance across the Azure platform

This is wat you bring to the team

·       Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field

·       Strong experience with SQL and Python for data ingestion and transformation

·       Experience with Azure Databricks (PySpark) and large‑scale data processing

·       Experience building batch and/or streaming pipelines (Azure Data Factory preferred)

·       Hands‑on experience with Data Warehouse, Data Lake, or Lakehouse implementations

·       Solid understanding of Azure data services (ADF, Fabric, ADLS, Databricks, SQL Server, Storage Accounts, Key Vault)

·       Knowledge of data security and governance principles

·       Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)

·       Experience with data streaming and event‑based architectures is a plus

Your daily responsibilities include

Data Engineering & Platform Development

·       Design, build, and maintain batch and real‑time ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Databricks (PySpark), SQL, and Azure Data Factory

·       Develop and optimize scalable data solutions within the Azure cloud ecosystem, including Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse architectures

·       Contribute to the transition toward a modern Lakehouse / Data Warehouse platform using Microsoft Fabric and Databricks

Master Data & Integrations

·       Develop and maintain the Enterprise Master Data Repository (MDR), including:

o   Data modeling and validation

o   Deduplication logic

o   Golden record creation

·       Support Neways ERP, PLM, and MES integrations

·       Collaborate with Integration Specialists to ensure secure, reliable, and performant API‑based integrations

·       Support master data governance and enterprise‑wide data consistency

Operations, Quality & DevOps

·       Ensure high data quality, availability, and security across all pipelines

·       Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines and platforms

·       Optimize performance through efficient job design, cluster configuration, and scaling strategies

·       Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

·       Apply software engineering best practices to deliver clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code

·       Actively contribute to Agile delivery, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
