This is how you make impact as a HR Advisor

As HR Advisor, together with the HR Assistant, you are the first point of contact for employees and managers and you will be involved in various tasks, including Recruitment & Selection, Learning & Development, Absenteeism, Sustainable Employability, Assessment & Reward and much more! You will also help ensure that the core processes at HR are followed and safeguarded. For instance by extra checks on completeness and quality of data in our HR personnel information system AFAS. You have an important role in the further roll-out of new modules and the further automation of processes. Together with the specialists at Corporate HR and/or the HR colleagues of other operating companies, you work on projects on various topics, such as Job Infrastructure, Employer Branding and QMS (properly describing and securing our processes in a digital environment). Furthermore, you are involved in the activities of the annual HR cycle such as the appraisal and remuneration round and you are involved in the delivery of (monthly) management reports. All in all, a job in which you are very versatile.


You will become part of our team consisting of an HR Manager and an HR assistant/officer, with responsibility split between 2 operating companies (NEXT and NAM) and 3 locations: Son, Echt and Nijmegen. The place of employment is Son, and you will regularly visit one of the other locations. You should think about a day in Nijmegen every two weeks and a day in Echt once a month. We determine the exact distribution and content of these days together with the team, many tasks can also be done remotely or even from home. A pool car is available for travelling to other locations. The Son location has about 190 FTE, Echt about 30 FTE and Nijmegen 17 FTE: a total of 237 FTE. The HR Advisor and HR Assistant are each other’s back up in case of absence, with the HR Advisor additionally having an advisory role towards management and (teams of) employees. In this role, you have a major impact on the further professionalisation and improvement of HR processes and working methods across the board!

Your daily responsibilities include

Advising and co-activating management on various topics such as; team and employee development, sustainable employability, succession planning, engagement etc.
Drawing up plans with regard to absenteeism, training and team development
Executing and optimizing all HR processes, including communication to the organisation
Co-executing projects together with the HR Manager and Corporate HR, ensuring an optimal roll-out within the operating companies
Conducting selection interviews and posting vacancies on the website. Co-monitoring that the onboarding runs smoothly;
Together with the HR Assistant, ensuring accurate HR administration in AFAS and further roll-out of AFAS modules and Power BI reports.

This is what you bring to the team

  • HBO working and thinking level, towards Human Resources (HR), psychology, or business administration with a strong interest in people and organisation;
  • At least three years’ working experience in HR, preferably within an international organisation;
  • Proactive, inquisitive self-starter, structured, results-oriented and decisive;
  • You have a fluent pen, are communicatively strong and have a good command of the Dutch and English languages;
  • You enjoy setting things up, organising, harmonising and structuring. You are hands-on and do not shy away from a challenge;
