This is how you make impact as an Information Security Officer (ISO)

As Information Security Officer (ISO) you assess IT security and compliance issues and risks (infrastructure, applications, and data) within the context of Neways’ business objectives at any given time. You ensure that relevant risks are reduced to an acceptable and manageable level.

As ISO you share responsibility for managing the Information Security Management System (ISMS), which includes the IT security policy and guidelines. You are responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the ISMS and any necessary improvement actions. As ISO you report on the implementation, status, and progress of the IT security policy and the ISMS to the CISO. The position is based in Son, NL.

Your daily responsibilities include

Preparing policies in the field of information security (TISAX and ISO27001 in preparation)
• Identifying risks in information provisioning
• Monitoring the status of implemented information security measures
• Preparing guidelines to ensure information provisioning meets quality standards and relevant laws and regulations
• Monitoring the status of implemented measures regarding quality and compliance (e.g., through audits).

You are someone who employs a methodical approach and is capable of mapping IT security risks, analyzing them, and determining a course of action based on this analysis. With your organizational awareness and strong communication skills, you maintain effective contact with the organization and guide them with your vision. You have an analytical mindset and can form independent judgments. You are also able to articulate policies related to security in writing in a clear and comprehensible manner. Additionally, you actively contribute to the team by collaborating and striving for a shared result.

We also ask for:

  • A completed higher education (HBO/WO) degree in IT, with HBO-level working and thinking capacity;
  • At least 3 years of proven work experience in policy development in the field of information security, and familiarity with the security standard ISO27001;
  • A personal certification in the field of IT security is a plus;
  • Demonstrable experience with risk management and compliance issues;
  • Active participation in knowledge groups related to cybersecurity; • Insight into the dependencies of various IT systems and business processes;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English. German is a plus;
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to Neways locations in Europe is necessary;
  • Availability for a minimum of 32 hours per week.
