Does it sound like a challenge to you to work together with the purchasing team to find the most ideal solution for the customer, and are you able to achieve even the impossible? Then the role of Operational Buyer is just right for you! As an Operational Buyer, you ensure that material availability matches the demand from internal and external customers. You do this by purchasing the required parts for our production in a timely and correct manner. Most of the purchasing is done from our preferred suppliers, where you monitor the process and ensure that the procurement process runs smoothly. The purchasing team will train you and, together with you, ensure that you master the essence of our way of working and our products.

This is what you bring to the team
A completed bachelor’s degree in (technical) business administration or logistics;
Affinity with or experience in working with technical products;
You are creative in finding solutions and have a practical and entrepreneurial mindset;
You are stress-resistant and know how to set priorities well;
You proactively suggest improvements out of intrinsic motivation;
Experience with working with ERP systems;
Strong communication skills in Dutch and English;
Experience in a similar position, but we also warmly invite starters to apply.

Your daily responsibilities include
As an Operational Buyer at Neways Leeuwarden, you will have the following responsibilities:

Reviewing and processing purchase suggestions into purchase orders in the ERP system, taking into account price, delivery time, and packaging unit;

Checking and processing order confirmations from suppliers in the ERP system;

Monitoring deliveries and, if necessary, proposing alternative products/suppliers;

Assessing/executing rescheduling orders and adjusting priorities in consultation with planning;

Communicating and following up on forecasts with suppliers;

Proposing adjustments to order parameters;

Handling and preventing invoice discrepancies and quality issues;

Timely internal coordination with stakeholders in the production process, such as the planning and warehouse departments;

Actively contributing to the further professionalization of the department and independently participating in improvement projects.
