This is how you make impact as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the research, design, and implementation of mechanical systems (e.g., heat sink, housing/casing, interconnects, assembly) for our state-of-the-art (power) electronic products. Leveraging your expertise in thermal management, housing design, assembly, and environmental testing will be instrumental in the development of high-quality, reliable, compact, and efficient solutions in the fields of Smart Mobility, Semicon solutions, and Connectivity.

Your daily responsibilities include

  • (Thermal Management) Designing and optimizing heat sinks and thermal management systems to ensure efficient heat dissipation and thermal stability of the active and passive components of power electronic converters, including rectifiers, inverters/amplifiers, and (isolated) DC/DC converters.
  • (Thermal Management) Conducting airflow simulations and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize cooling performance and airflow distribution.
  • (Thermal Management) Utilizing analytical methods and finite element analysis (FEA) to assess thermal stresses and optimize heat sink designs.
  • (Housing Design) Leading the design and optimization of housings and enclosures for power electronics systems, considering factors such as structural integrity, thermal management, and electromagnetic shielding.
  • (Housing Design) Conducting structural analysis and simulations to ensure housing designs meet performance and reliability requirements.
  • (Assembly and Interconnects) Designing electrical and mechanical interconnects for power electronic circuits/components/modules, ensuring robustness, reliability, and ease of assembly.
  • (Assembly and Interconnects) Collaborating with electrical engineers to optimize the integration of electrical and mechanical components within the system architecture.
  • (Design for Manufacturing) Developing and implementing design for manufacturing (DFM) principles to streamline production processes and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • (Design for Manufacturing) Collaborating with manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and scalability.
  • (Design for Environmental Tests) Designing products to withstand environmental stresses such as shock, vibration, and humidity.
  • (Design for Environmental Tests) Conducting environmental testing and analysis to validate product performance under real-world conditions.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to address and seamlessly integrate all aspects in the design process, including hardware, software, EMC, mechanics, DFx, functional safety, etc.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
