This is how you make impact as a Senior Wiring Harness Design Engineer
As a member of our Electromechanical Design group, you will play a pivotal role in the design and commercialization of our electrical systems. You will own the low voltage architecture, harness design and development, component selection, component integration, and power distribution strategy, which are the backbone of our products.
You will also be challenged in help bringing our Wiring Harness Design competence to the next level and therefore contributing to our Design-Build Strategy.
Our application process
Your daily responsibilities include
- Provide 3D CAD guidance and create build prints-responsible (2D drawing) for wiring harnessing and HV/LV cable designs.
- Design wire harness topology, segmentation, schematics, and build prints.
- Select and size components, including high-power cables, wiring, connectors, and terminals.
- Drive low voltage electrical architecture and system design from concept to production.
- Perform design analysis (DFMEA, WCCA) to ensure reliability and safety and optimize wiring harness designs for manufacturability.
- Develop wiring harnesses for various applications, ensuring compliance with ISO, UL requirements, industry standards, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and product designers, to integrate wiring harnesses into systems while meeting regulatory standards.
- Generate detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and manufacturing instructions, adhering to relevant documentation standards.
- Work within budget constraints and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality, considering applicable standards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians on wiring harness design principles, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
- Develop proposals for commercial offers related to electromechanical systems.
- Interface with harness production and integration teams to ensure final harness designs can be produced and installed on schedule in accordance with overall project goals.

This is what you bring to the team
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing wiring harnesses.
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations related to wiring harness design (i.e. UL/IEC/NFPA 79/IPC/WHMA-A-620/NEMA).
- Previous experience in durable electrified products (Electric Vehicles, Electric Grid Products/Services, Power Electronics, Automotive, Medical, Defense, Semiconductor).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation in electromechanical design.
- Open for travel on a need basis.
