Summary
This is how you make impact as a Should Cost Engineer
As the Should Cost Engineer you play a critical role in our sales, engineering and procurement teams, providing accurate cost analyses and insights to support strategic decision-making for different operating companies and regions. You will be involved in evaluating manufacturing processes, materials, labor, and overhead to determine the true cost of a product, aiding in cost reduction and optimization efforts. In this position, you will work at our headquarters in Son, near Eindhoven, and you will report directly to Manager Quotation Team and work closely with multiple stakeholders.
Your daily responsibilities include
- Perform detailed cost analysis of Mechanical parts (Milling, turning, sheetmetal) using industry-standard cost modeling techniques/software;
- Send RFQ’s out and check quotations from suppliers on QLTC requirements
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities by suppliers;
- Conduct benchmarking studies to compare costs with industry standards and between suppliers;
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, quality, finance, and manufacturing teams to provide cost calculations and support strategic initiatives;
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, cost modeling techniques, and best practices to continuously improve cost estimation;

This is what you bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or >10 years’ experience in the field of expertise.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost engineering or experience in producing mechanical parts ( Milling, turning, sheet metal)
- Experience with mechanical parts for the Semiconductor/medical industry;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in cost modeling software and tools;
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Strong communication and presentation skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
- Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage
