This is how you make impact as an Unit Manager Module Assembly

Do you find it challenging to achieve the set goals with your team and use your leadership knowledge and experience to do so? In this role, you will lead the Module Assembly department and be the captain of the manufacturing performance team in our matrix structure. This is a multidisciplinary team where production closely collaborates with Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering, enabling the Unit Manager to make a real impact on output, products, and processes. This department is one of the five operational departments of Neways Advanced Applications. In addition to continuous improvement, you know better than anyone how to ensure our operations run as smoothly and optimally as possible.

Your daily responsibilities include

As a Unit Manager, you are responsible for (flawlessly, timely, and at the lowest cost) generating the correct output of the Module Assembly/Cleanroom department and achieving the agreed KPIs in terms of quality, logistics, technology, and costs (QLTC). You are challenged to implement new products and processes as efficiently as possible within your department. You lead the improvement process within the department and are the leader of the multidisciplinary improvement team. As a Unit Manager, you work day shifts and are responsible for managing 7 team leaders. They work day shifts or two shifts and are jointly responsible for over 100 employees, including Assemblers and Testers. It is important that you are a point of contact for your employees, listen, think along, and be able to coach your employees to develop into even better-performing team leaders. During busy times, it may be necessary to switch these shifts to weekend and/or evening shifts, where you are flexible to be available in case of emergencies. As a Unit Manager, you report directly to the Operations Manager and are part of the Operational Team.

Your Additional Tasks Include:

  • Realizing good management and development of the department to ensure it can perform well now and in the future;
  • A multidisciplinary mindset regarding the entire process within NAA;
  • Connecting people, advancing the team, and managing and inspiring them through a helicopter view;
  • Leading and ensuring the further development of employees as agreed in the Personal Development Plan;
  • Taking responsibility for and carrying out personnel matters, including inflow, throughput, and outflow, coaching, troubleshooting, absenteeism guidance, and performance appraisals;
  • Ensuring a safe working environment, identifying situations that may pose safety and environmental risks, and ensuring they are resolved;
  • Ensuring alignment of the Unit with other Units/departments (including in the OT);
  • Escalating bottlenecks that cannot be resolved within the department’s responsibility.

We Also Require:

  • A completed higher education degree, preferably in a technical field;
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role within our industry is a plus;
  • Proven leadership experience from a technically complex production process;
  • Experience in further developing an operational department based on lean principles;
  • Good communication and writing skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Full-time availability.
