Catherine Hoff, Account Manager

"No two days here are the same. The weeks just fly by."

In her previous job, Catherine Hoff would pass by the buildings of Neways Electronics on her way home. The name was familiar, but it wasn’t a world she knew much about. Now, two months into her role as an account manager at the electronics company, she’s learning more every day about Neways’ electronics for semiconductors, healthcare, and smart mobility solutions.

“As an account manager, I now need to know what I’m talking about. Thankfully, I don’t have to dive too deeply into every detail because my customer focus team includes people with different areas of expertise. You need to rely on that knowledge, and you learn from it too. After just two months, my technical knowledge has already grown significantly. The role of an account manager varies at Neways. Many managers work on large accounts, handling just one customer. My team and I are responsible for a variety of smaller customers, which makes the work very dynamic.”

“It’s the combination of technology and people that makes this job enjoyable.”

“The biggest challenges in any project are logistics and quality—whether it’s a customer wanting earlier delivery or larger quantities. My challenge as an account manager is finding ways to meet the customer’s needs without running into problems internally. Sometimes, it’s enough just to let the customer know you’re working on it—a quick call or email to say, ‘We’re on it.’ It’s the combination of technology and people that makes this job so enjoyable.”

“Everyone here is taken seriously—even ideas from the ground up.”

“I learn something new every day. I was familiar with standard account management tasks from my previous job, but I knew less about finance. Here at Neways, I get support on all fronts. While there’s some hierarchy, it’s not rigid. If I have a question about finances, I can ask a member of the management team directly. That’s a big plus. The input you provide is often acted upon. Everyone here is taken seriously—even ideas from the ground up. Neways is a big company but not too big. For me, the work atmosphere is very important, and working at Neways feels like being part of a family. The atmosphere is friendly, and everyone is incredibly helpful. Even though I’m relatively new, I’m already entrusted with significant responsibilities. The trust they place in me says a lot about Neways. And if there’s something you don’t understand, you can easily approach someone to explain it. I see that as a huge advantage.”

“I want to master this role before advancing further at Neways.”

“As an account manager, I’m learning everything from scratch right now. That’ll keep me busy for a while. I see plenty of challenges for the coming years. My work is mainly operational at the moment, but over time, I’d like to take on a more tactical and strategic role. Of course, once my team is fully settled, I wouldn’t rule out exploring other opportunities within Neways. But first, I want to master this role before moving forward. I’m confident those opportunities will be there when the time comes.”
