Taner Alsancak

"It's a privilege to grow alongside this company."

Taner Alsancak is a man of the world. Originally from Istanbul, educated in Germany, and now working at Neways Electronics in Son, Eindhoven, for four years. His life is trilingual, seamlessly switching between English, Turkish, and Dutch. He followed his wife, who started working in the Brainport region, and soon found himself in the heart of the chip-making industry. At Neways, he’s found his comfort zone.

“I work as a quality coordinator for Neways customers in the semiconductor industry. My job is to handle complaints because mistakes happen, even here. I enjoy resolving issues that arise. Errors always stem from processes. If you can identify and fix an error by adjusting the production process, for example, you can prevent similar issues in the future. We address these challenges with a hands-on mentality—grabbing the bull by the horns and seeing results within months. Problems always happen for a reason. It’s my job to steer things in the right direction because a small error can lead to significant problems.”

“If you’re open to change, this is a great company to work for.”

In his four years at Neways, Taner has held several roles—from quality engineer for suppliers and corporate to his current position as coordinator. Every time he feels comfortable in a role, he moves on to a new one, learning a lot along the way. “I don’t mind it at all. I consider it a privilege to grow alongside this company. But it’s true that just when I settle into my comfort zone, I’m given a new role where I can learn even more. That’s really part of Neways. There are training programs, on-the-job learning, and workshops. Based on your annual plan, you can continuously work on your own development. And it’s all very informal. I’ve even done yoga for team building. If you’re open to change, Neways is a great company to work for. Everyone here is approachable and willing to help. It’s an international company with a mix of nationalities, but we all know what a Brabant sausage roll is.”

“Everything I’ve learned, I can apply at Neways.”

Taner appreciates the open atmosphere and informal environment. The coffee machine chat is a familiar ritual. He also notices the international vibe in his neighborhood, where barbecues feature cuisines from all over the world. “You can feel the international vibe everywhere. At Neways, our electronics are at the heart of chip-making machines and medical devices. My work contributes directly to that. I was trained as a technical engineer in Germany and worked in the automotive industry in Turkey. Everything I’ve learned, I can apply at Neways. The semiconductor industry is high-end and very complex. If I can streamline processes and prevent problems, I’ve already accomplished half of my work. When I started here, I didn’t know anyone, but that has changed. I now know everyone and learn something new from my colleagues every day. We’re all focused on making things better. In that sense, my work as a quality coordinator is never truly finished.”
